Do you have any pets? 2 Horses, Babe and Lucy. 2 German Shepards, Bubba and Sissy.
Not so cool person you've met? I refuse to answer on the grounds it might incriminate me.
My start in radio:
Just in case you're interested, I got my start in Radio back when Bill Carr's family owned WDNE. When I first met Bill, I was the manager of the Elkins-Randolph County Airport. Bill came in wanting to buy tickets on Colgan Airways but the ticket counter was closed for lunch so I invited him back to my office for coffee and to wait until the ladies returned. We talked for a while and out of the blue, Mr. Carr complimented me on my voice and asked if I ever thought about a career in radio. He didn't know it, but I had always wanted to be a DJ, ever since I was just a kid. I used to mock the guys on the radio and spent hours playing DJ. He invited me down to WDNE for a test reading on the following Monday. I guess it went ok because I got a call a few days later offering me a job. I started out on WDNE AM, on Sunday mornings, but it wasn't long before they put me on WVHT, the Classic Rock station in the same building. Not long after that the format switched from Classic Rock to Country, and the call letters were changed to WDNE FM. I've been here ever since. I'll always be grateful for Bill taking an interest in my radio career. Ah Radio, It's a great way to spend the day at work, if you can call it that.
